Now having passed their 45th Anniversary, the Seldom Scene has thrived on playing bluegrass a little differently than everyone else. If other bands used a fiddler, the Seldom Scene used a Dobro; if others relied on old standards, the Seldom Scene played rock classics like J.J. Cale’s “After Midnight.” Through skilled musicianship and an urban approach to bluegrass, the Seldom Scene has become one of the most influential – if not the most influential – bluegrass band of the last 30 years. The current lineup includes Dudley Connell (guitar), Lou Reid (mandolin), Rickie Simpkins (banjo and fiddle), Ronnie Simpkins (bass), and Fred Travers (dobro). Rickie has replaced Ben Eldridge, the last original member of the band. It's the first that brothers Rickie and Ronnie have played regularly together since the Tony Rice Unit.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. On-line ticket sales end at 4 PM Saturday.  Tickets will be available at the door, including rush tickets for $15 for school/college students with ID.  Children under 12 are admitted free.
