Dale Ann Bradley was raised in rural Kentucky, where her early exposure to music was hymns at church, the radio at home, and later a black and white television. She got her first guitar at age 14 and not long after joined her high school band teacher's group Backporch Grass. Several years later, after performing as a solo act at the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, she joined The New Coon Creek Girls, whom she would record with until 1997. Since then, several solo recordings have solidified her career. She is five-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year. Phil Leadbetter, dobro, Scott Powers, mandolin, Stuart Wyrick, banjo, and Tim Dishman, bass, make up the band.

"Laura Orshaw [fiddle] has firmly established herself as a significant emerging artist in the arena of traditional American music." (Bluegrass Unlimited). The New Velvet Band's sound is driven by Laura's powerful vocal styling and weaves in the inventive instrumental talents of Tony Watt, guitar, Matthew Witler, mandolin, Catherine "BB" Bowness, banjo, and Alex Muri, bass.

Advance ticket sales closed at 4 PM today.  Tickets will be available at the door. Rush tickets at $10 for students will also be sold at the door.  Call the museum  781-861-6559 after 6 PM to inquire about status.
